Born in 1971 in Paris. Travelled a lot in the 90s and then made fiction films and documentary essays often designated as experimental, though narrative and privileging form, rhythm and a certain contemplation. Painting, poetry, conceptual art and political thought are sources of inspiration and influence. Antoine Fumat teaches in college, technical or general, works in industry, the press, and construction. He originally took up photography in order to learn about the workings of light for his films, for which he sometimes does the photography, then worked for a time as a press photographer for a regional daily. He has taken a break from filming for the past few years, while continuing to write his own scripts.
